House Bill 8 is the new community college outcomes-based funding model. The bill passed by the 88th Texas Legislature restructured how community colleges receive funding and went into effect on September 1, 2023.

ACC hosted a series of forums to help faculty and staff understand House Bill 8 and what it means for the college. The HB8 Roadshow was presented by Dr. Gaye Lynn Scott, Vice Chancellor of Instruction, and Dr. Jenna Cullinane Hege, Vice Chancellor of the Office of Institutional Research and Analytics. They discussed the new community college funding model, the benefits it will have for ACC funding, how it will help ACC focus on its core mission of student success, and some of the possible impacts on unit-level planning and continuous improvement.
